CJHPS
Appalachian State University’s Center for Judaic, Holocaust, and Peace Studies
The phrase “never again” has taken on special meaning in 2024, with people of goodwill around the world struggling to make sense of the deadliest antisemitic attack since the Holocaust. Denying the Holocaust opens the door to denying the atrocities of October 7, 2023 says Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. The importance of Holocaust education has only grown since that day. Western North Carolina is fortunate to have the Center for Judaic, Holocaust and Peace Studies on the campus of App State. The CJHPS teaches hundreds of people each year about the dangers of unchecked hatred and the need to prevent genocide, and Holocaust awareness. Our Temple is proud to partner with this vital institution.
